Hi :)

So.. For people with a huge forum like mine (talbotoc.com) removing ads for everyone will last me barely a day.

If I could remove ads for a certain group I could out members who have donated into that group and as a thankyou they won't see any ads.

The ads irritate some people so they have a choice to be able to not see them, it can only have a positive effect as me paying for them to be removed only for that group will last much longer too!

If a user donates $10 once, that person will never see ads after logging in, isn't that right?

Use the No ADs for Staff function and make them 'staff' somehow. Ever considered that?

I am guessing that by the lack of Admin, Tech Team or Moderator logins on the Board Index that there are none of any of them looking at ANYTHING other than chrisw who has so much going on re the cockup of the migration to deal with - no one has time to look at anything at all.

Hi, xg10

I don't know if this would be a (temporary) solution for your users who are bothered by the ads, but in this topic under the section General Support one of the members wrote:

If the members feel the ads are not acceptable, I advised them to donate (10 USD being the minimum), that removes the ads for the donator... for life :)
whereupon Chris confirmed:

That's a good idea, for sure.
The same was already suggested somewhere hereabove by Jblue on 2015-09-22. It may be worth a try?

Yeah I saw that, last time I checked it was more than $10 to remove all ads.

My problem is though some of the ads are very intrusive, on mobile they can cover the banner and a lot of other space on the page. I have seen comments on Facebook about how people have been instantly put off registering because of this.

It would be a step in the right direction for me to be able to pay for certain members not to see them within a group.

I can't see it happening like all other suggestions nobody seems to take note of.
