Post Legacy Version Ends Soon
With the highly successful phpBB3 version of our hosting system taking off, we want to announce that as of June 1st, 2009 we will be closing our legacy (phpBB 2.0.x) version. At this time, all remaining legacy forums will be automatically converted to our new FF system (using phpBB3).

To the few forums still on the legacy version, we recommend creating a test forum first as phpBB3 can be quite different from what you're used to. Once you're ready to convert, you can always convert your forum before June 1st so you and your team are prepared.

Once again, eliminating the legacy version will be a huge step in terms of performance and security for our system. By not having to support two versions, we can focus support and development on a single system.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q) When will my forum be converted?
A) Starting Monday, June 22nd. We expect this to be completed mid September.

Q) What's new with phpBB3?
A) A ton of stuff! If you've never used it we recommend creating a test forum to try it out.

Q) Why can't I stay with phpBB2?
A) phpBB2 is legacy software and for the past six months hasn't been supported by the phpBB group. As a result, there are no more security updates being made, which pose a huge security risk to your phpbb2 forums and our network.

Q) Will I lose anything in the conversion?
A) No. All users, posts, smilies, avatars, etc etc are converted with your forum. You will need to choose another style as it will be defaulted to ProSilver.
