I was wondering if there is a limit to the number of sub categories that you can have under 1 main category? I say that because I am trying to add another category now and it will allow me to create it with a parent. But then when I go and add forums into that category it has it "greyed out" not allowing me to select it as a parent category for that forum. I have went through time and time again with the settings and can not find out where I am going wrong.

There are no effective limits. You are just approaching the issue from the wrong side.

Go to the (sub) forum & select the category as it's parent.

I understand that, but the issue that I am having is it will not allow me to create either a sub category nor a sub forum under that category. So that is why i was wondering if there was a limit or if something along those lines. I even deleted the category and recreated it to see if it was just a hiccup and it still will not allow me to add anything under it as if its too much.

Okay, figured it out. Thanks for everybody's assistance. Apparently I have to create the category and create sub-forums PRIOR to going in and then setting that category to have a parent.
