I'm currently experiencing issues with the quote code not working properly. Actually, it seems to be an issue with the style I have installed, Black Pearl, because it appears to be fine while using other styles (prosilver, infinity, ect)

Here's what's going on.

Instead of a quote box like this:



It shows us this:

*Enter user here* wrote

asdfghjkl

---

Hopefully this makes sense. Is anyone else experiencing the same issues, or is it just me? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Its probably just the style your using, if it is, then its an issue with the style coding, and will have to be fixed. Could you post a screen shot?

I do believe this is a problem with the style, I don't see any other reason why this would be happening. I am sure one of the Style Tech's will take a look at it, when a support staff see this post.

If you temporarily change to Prosilver or Subsilver2 does the problem exist on those styles?

No, the problem is resolved when I switch styles (including Prosilver and Subsilver2). It seems there is something with Black Pearl.

Okay! I will escalate this issue to the administrators and they will look into it as soon as possible.

Not only is the "quote" not working for new quotes, but it has also removed all the old quotes, on old posts.

I'm having the same problem with this quote facility on my forum. The quotes are hard to read and now look confusing to who has posted or replied to what. It's never happened before on my layout which is aero black.

Just want to chime in that my forum also is having the same problem. Black Pearl theme, as well.

It would be great if this thread could be updated if the problem is solved.

Same problem here.

Experiencing the same problem on our board but, add one more style to the list. Out of the styles that we have installed, both Black Pearl and twilightBB have this problem. All of our others tested out normal.

Can we at least know if this new style quote layout will be permanent for the styles affected? It's driving me insane. I don't really want to change my forum appearance if possible but if this carries on then I might have to...

Hello, I am having this same problem on my webforum, we have, however, been using the Aero Black layout.

I have not tried switching to pro-silver yet.

Same problem here on: aeroblack and twilight bb

Board styles that work fine for us are:

• aeroblue
• aerored
• blackdiamond
• bluemoon
• ca orbital
• citrus red
• colorvin
• green grass
• hermes green
• macinscott 3
• prosilver
• serenity purple
• simple dark green
• subsilver 2

The members on my forum have the same problem and our board style is Tranquil Teal. The quote code works fine for me though.

Just wanted to add that after discovering this problem with my forum, I searched around for a replacement and found the quote box wasn't working on a few other themes. But in these cases, the problem wasn't the same. In these themes, use of the quote tags put the entire post in a quote box, including any text that was typed outside the quote tags.

We're Black Pearl, too - and want to remain so.

Our quote button is not working either. Absolutely nothing happens, when I use it to wrap text in a quote. AND all the previous quote boxes on the board have disappeared.

I can't remember. Was "quotes" included in the list of "pre-made BBcodes" before? It's not there now. Should it be?

So that the tech team know when they come to fix this problem, these are the offending styles, correct?
AeroBlack, twilightBB, X-Treme Red and Black Pearl.

I have confirmed twilightBB and Black Pearl. The others I don't have installed but, it should only take a minute for the techs to test.

The quote buttons in the threads and the quote code in the post editor are working fine in these styles but, the result isn't right. Instead of the quote box, we get italicized text saying 'person's name wrote:'...

The status is pending meaning its being looked into, and they are trying to fix the problem. There will be a post here when they have fixed the problem. If you wish to switch to a different style in the mean time, that is completely up to you.

I can confirm AeroBlack is an offending style.

Why is it taking so long to sort out?
