Registered User Getting only Guest Access
A longstanding Registered User has recently experienced a problem when trying to access the forum. On using his regular Username and Password, he finds that he logged in only as a Guest and cannot access any of the threads within the various forums on the home page. I have tried testing the users permissions and find that I can access all areas but he insists that he cannot get access as a Registered User. I have examined his various permissions and for viewing and posting on the forums and they seem okay - they are identical to another Reg User who posted without problem today. Has anyone else experienced this problem and can I resolve it by deleting him as a member and asking him to register again, using the same details?

Re: Registered User Getting only Guest Access
Hi,
Is he a member of any other group that would have any viewing/posting abilities set to Never? This may be preventing him from carrying out either of those actions.

Re: Registered User Getting only Guest Access
Hello,
After he attempts to login, are you sure that he is actually logged in and that it doesn't somehow automatically log him out right after?

Re: Registered User Getting only Guest Access
I'm having exactly the same problem. I've tried everything I can think of for my member but she cannot log on at all. I even set up a brand new account for her and email, and yet she still cannot log in. She can access everything else on the net, so she hasn't deleted her cookies. She was able to access the new email without any problems and the registration for the new account went fine. I tested it myself. But still zero. Please help as she is a valuble member to me.

Re: Registered User Getting only Guest Access
Hello, Does deleting the browser cookies/ temporary internet files work? It may be that the file that keeps all of these tiny bits of information is full up and needs clearing. It'll mean logging into their other websites again but may well allow them to log into the forum - the data telling their browser that they're logged in might not be being stored because the folder is full.
