If I buy advanced hosting, and want to install mods. Would the FreeForums team help me install them? Or would I be on my own? Because I have no idea how to install mods...

Well that's kind of ridiculous, you have to pay $66 and pay them to help you install mods :/ ugh.

There is a mod package that FF will install FREE of charge for you but you have to ask the don't do it automaticaly. I have just had it installed on our forum and have disabled a lot of it as we don't want certain things on our forum but you can't pick and choose what they install, it's the whole package or none of it.

Hmm, how many mods come in that package? Is there a list of these mods listed anywhere?

Hello,

This is the current list of mods:

-Activity Stats Mod - See the users who have visited in the last 24 hours, and when a user's last visit was to your board

-Advertisement Management - With this mod you can easily enter your ads in your admin panel, select where you want them to be shown at, and see stats on them

-Anti-Bot Question: This allows you to create a custom question to ask users when they register in order to deter bot signups which will spam your board.

-Board3Portal - Similar in looks to the portal we have, this portal can be customized from the admin panel to your liking

-User Blog - Each user can have their own blog that they can manage on your board.

-Hit Counter - Displays text at the bottom of the forum showing how many views your forum has

-Redbar3 - Allows you to enter and customize links at the top/bottom of your forum to any site you want, and is customizable from the admin panel.

-Gallery - Adds a gallery mod to your forum to store, organize, and display images

-Upcoming Birthdays mod - Shows upcoming birthdays within 7 days

-Welcome PM mod - sends a configurable welcome PM to members when they join

-AJAX chat mod - This is a similar chat like you have on your forum hosted at FreeForums.org

-Add Pages mod - This mod allows you to create extra pages on to your forum which can be configured through the ACP and works with custom BBcode.

-Open Links in new windows - Opens links in a new window rather than the same current one

-Reputation/Karma Mod - allows users to give and receive reputation points from other users.

-Ultimate Points Mod - This is basically a points mod, and can tie in with the blog, portal, and gallery mods listed above.

-Advanced BBcode Box3 - Has a bunch of built-in BBcodes that you would otherwise have to make displaying on the posting page. *You may need to remove custom BBcodes you already have if they are already included in this mod*

-Thanks mod - users can thank other users for their posts

-Image resizer mod - images are resized to a certain size if they are posted and are too large (built into the Advanced BBcode Mod).

-Topic text hover mod - You can read part of a topic by simply hovering over the title of the mod

Well that is kind of silly, the mods listed below, you already get for free, you don't need premium or advanced hosting to get them.

Post Re: Advanced Hosting
Hello,

Users go to Advanced Hosting to be able to have FTP and database access to install their own mods on the forum, such as mods that aren't available here. They can also make their own customizations, such as customizing styles, creating a website, etc.

The mod package is something we offer as a sort of starting point for users, some users don't want to install their own mods, and want AH for other reasons (increased attachment size, etc.).
