Post setting url link target and forms...?
I use mailchimp for my websites newsletter management and I only have the option of embedding it (the newsletter subscription form) via html. Is there a way I can place this form on a topic page? I have advanced hosting and can edit my board files. Otherwise, I have to link my subscription form to an external page which brings me to my next question...

Is there a bbCode attribute or something that will allow a url to be opened in a new window/tab (like, "_blank")?

Right now when users subscribe to our newsletter it opens in the same window and they lose the forum url. It would be nice to have the subscription form right on the board or at least open in a new window so they don't lose their way :)

Thanks!

Hello,

If you have the mod package, URLs should open in a new tab already, however it only affects new URLs posted after the mod was installed, you will need to edit the post and re-submit it for it to work on older links.

If the newsletter link is all HTML then you can create a Custom BBcode for it (under the posting tab in the Admin Panel), and you can use that to post in a post on your forum if you'd like.

So without the mod package there is no way to have links targeted to a new window using BBcode?

Hello,
It's not necesarily about BBcode for links opening in a new window. The standard forum software (phpBB) doesn't do it by default, but there are ways to change this.
Yes, a BBcode could be made and every time you use that BBcode to post a URL, and this URL is clicked it will open in a new window - but you may want to edit your fileset so that it happens by default without having to change the much used [url] tags.

This page will explain how to do it: (http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/links-o ... w-windows/)
Make sure you make backups of the files before changing them!
