"post topic" button not appearing whatever forum style I use
I have just made my medieval history site and forum live online, and now find that my forums have no "post topic" button anywhere to be found. I am using the "chronicles" style, as thats the only one thats suited to our theme, but after looking at the forums I tried switching to a couple of others with no result. Please help, I will be away for two days in a couple hours and need to have this sorted by then. (been trying to sort it myself with no effect for several days).

Hello,
I just checked your forum out, and I can see the 'New Topic' button just fine. When you click on a forum, its to the left just under the forum name. If you still cannot see the 'New Topic' button, then I suggest trying to use a different web browser to see if it may be just the web browser you are using.

Hello, This may be a permissions issue. Lets check your personal forum permissions.
1) Head over to your ACP (Advanced Admin Panel) and click the "Users and Groups" tab at the top, 2) Click "Manage Users" on the left hand side and enter your username before clicking Submit, 3) Select "Permissions" from the drop-down box at the top, right hand side before clicking "Set users forum permissions" that will appear under the same drop-down box, 4) Tick the "All Forums" box before clicking submit immediately below, 5) For each forum select the "Advanced Permissions" option and click the "Post" tab, 6) Check "Can start new topics" is set to "Yes".

SoloCafes, It would be easiest if you created your own topic, explaining the problem a bit more, and include a link to your forum so we can take a look. Thank you.

It´s impresionant. After to response this post, I have change the spanish language by language default: english. Surprisingly the buttons began to run. So, I had no intention of changing it... but I put to test, I change the language again and continued running in spanish language too. Thank you. Quotes: Rabindranath TagoreLouis pasteur.

Re: "post topic" button not appearing whatever forum style I
Hello, So with the British English language pack enabled the "New Topic" button shows, but with the Spanish language pack it does not, correct? Are there any other icons that don't appear with the Spanish language pack enabled? I shall report this as a language pack issue, but suggest fornow you use the British English one just so you do have the buttons available. I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Re: "post topic" button not appearing whatever forum style I
It´s ok Subliminal,
Just a note! When I disenabled English language pack by spanish language pack enabled, for a period of time the button appeared. Did I explain better that before?
Also i have seen, on any button it will overwrite the description of the button tittle.
Thank you very much.
Note: Sorry for my bad english.

Re: "post topic" button not appearing whatever forum style I
Hello SoloCafes, I expect the reason the image doesn't disapear straight away is because the forum cache isn't purged. When the cache is purges (this is done automatically) that is when the image disapears. Once again I apoloigize for the inconvenience caused and suggest for now you continue to use the "British English" language pack as I do not know when this issue will be fixed, sorry. In the meantime, if you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask and we'll be happy to help
