Hi, is there any way to clear all chat logs at once, or do I have to delete every message one by one?

I am not sure about this. But you are probably using the shoutbox, which takes longer to clear itself. I suggest using the chat box as it clears itself within 30 seconds or so.

I don't mean the messages showing on the screen with the on-going chat, but the messages stored in the log.

Through the admin control panel I can access all the chatlogs from as long ago as how long the chatbox has been in use (In our case, that's a bit less than a year I think).

I would like to clear these logs, but is there any other way than by deleting every message one by one? With the chatlogs in this case consisting of a time period of nearly a year with active conversations every day, that's a lot of messages to delete... Any way to just clear the whole log at once?

I'm sorry there isn't a mass-delete option for the logs. However, the AJAX Chat (and shoutbox/chatbox in the utility box) are due to be removed from the system and replaced by a 3rd Party program. This new program may have this feature but at this moment of time I don't know.
