Registered users can no longer log in...
Since yesterday, most of our users, including our admin, are unable to login unless they had already previously chosen "Log me on automatically each visit". Otherwise they keep getting thrown back to the login page and treated as guests after entering their credentials.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Registered users can no longer log in...
Hello, It appears this is happening on more than one forum so I shall escalate this for the administrators to take a look at.
Are your members all from the same country - could they be with the same Internet Service Provider?

Thanks subliminal. Users that are having the problems on our forum are predominantly in Australia and New Zealand but there are also several affected users in the UK and Hong Kong.

Re: Registered users can no longer log in...
Hello s9910934e, Would you happen to know which ISP they are using? It may be a multi-national one, but because the topic is escalated an administrator will explore all possibilities - (because they are from different parts of the world that does greatly reduce the chances of it being an issue with their ISP.)

Re: Registered users can no longer log in...
Sorry, I don't have that information but there are 30+ ISPs in Oz so I very much doubt people are using the same ones as many are in far-flung corners of the country. I am using PCCW here in HK. Cheers!

Just tried that and no joy. I've just tried creating a new account and when I press submit it just clears all the data and wants me to enter it all again.

Re: Registered users can no longer log in...
After 4 years of using freeforums it's a shame that my site is now going to be shut down because no one can fix this problem.

Re: Registered users can no longer log in...
Still the same issue for over a week. None of our users can freshly log in, only those who have stayed logged in automatically from before the issue began are able to post. It doesn't say wrong password or anything like that, just won't log us in. Thanks Wickett.

Re: Registered users can no longer log in...
Any chance of this being sorted. I cleared cookies on my laptop and now can't log on from that machine. Most of my members are deserting me - please help or a least say don't know what has happened so I can create a new forum.

Re: Registered users can no longer log in...
This happens if you change the path of cookies of your forum. This can be resolved by
1. bring the cookies path to original.
2. clear the broad cookies of your browser
3. clear cache all saved password and cookies of your browser . close browser and log in again hope it will resolve your issue.

Re: Registered users can no longer log in...
I can't log on to the ACP to do this (I presume this is the only way) as it keeps logging me out. Any chance one of the Admin can go in and have a look.
