I searched Google for "Free forums" and you were right up there at the top. I followed the link and realized when I saw that there were truly no ads, that there was no need to look any further...I'd found the best (which has been confirmed for me over and over since being here). 0)

- I saw the add on phpbb.com when I was in the forums looking at phpbb3, at first I thought I'd cheak it out latter, but when I saw the other adds, the only other one that didn't have add placement was one that cost $. The very next time your add came up I whent to this site and bookmarked it in fear of losing it!
I latter read more on this site trying to find that catch, but when I didn't find one, I signed up.
- I have been with at least 2 other hosts, the first thing was that you didn't have adds. Then once I signed up on this suport forum, I was happy to see it wasn't a graveyard and it had fellow forum makers helping each other and best of all, The site admins actualy helping, and not saying "cheak the php help forums to make shure your not asking a n00b question", but answering each question as if it was of importence and explain what to do in detail
kinda ran out of posting room in mid-sentence, I'll make a second post to continue what I was saying....

3. I mainly said this one in #2, but I have to say this:When you guys say your the best out there, you truly not kinding. Most sites load your forums with banners and when you go to the admin pannel you find you have to pay extra for what this site thinks is the very least they should give to their consumers. Then come the staff, your not a fly by the night forum host run from some guy who works on his site a hour a day looking for a little exrta income, your a detacaded staff that works their hardest to please there consumers. Great job guys!

1.Found Jackal's post at freewebspace.net
2 and 3.I was just testing many freeforum hosts. So far,freeforums.org is the best.
No adds, modifications get added,as well as upgrade features. And the Support Forum they provide actually works.

1. Found you on the google search engine in free forums, and you were in the sponsered links section.
2. I think it was mainly the no-ads part but also the service that you offer overall.
3. Again no-ads, mods of our choice get added on, our view counts for something, service admins give i.e. always answer peoples questions.

1. Google - "free phpBB forum"
2. I looked at a bunch of websites, all looked bland and boring, so I never registered at them.
3. First of all, the orange color caught my attention right away. Next I clicked on the "competition" link to compare you gus to other places. No Ads? Done deal lol. What I didn't know was that you guys were so friendly and had amazing user-support.

1. phpBB.com home page. They have a link there that says

Clicked it and ended up here. The switch was a no-brainer!
2. I've been slaving over at Forumer waiting forever for them to add features (which were impossible to get because of "security reasons" ). The ads were annoying. My Firefox Adblock plug-in blocks them but other users had issues.
The lack of support and I stress - THE LACK OF FEATURES (like database back-ups! )
3. FreeForums.org is the best solution for free phpBB hosting I could find. Can it really get any better for free and without advertising? I prayed and the universe answered!
No bull!
You are on a mission from God!

I did a search (probably Yahoo) for forum features to add to my site. Yours was the third I found. It was by far the easiest to use.

I was looking for free forums, and I was using Google to surf as per usual, but I thikn I found a referance either on PHPBB, or somewhere else, just a referance to Freeforums, in some sites Google description.
This site seemed to be the best, the updates, support, and the way peoples boards can be maintained and used, and even when people have a few problems as well, I didn't expect anything as good as this from a provider, and I won't lie, when someone I've used before, claims to be developing their site and support forum, neither of which doesn't happen, they leave you on answerphone, when you call, and their registrars pretty much give up on you as well, a site like this is practically the Rolls Royce of providers, and despite the occasional little blip, as is always the case with technology, I can't fault this service.
I know it's hard and takes time to respond, to every single request, problem, suggestion etc etc, but I just wish Freeforums had been around about 1 year ago, because my last board achieved okay use, but less than expected, and when your hosts description and keywords are logged in search engines, and not your own, it's not very good.
I have to congratulate Freeforums, for getting a premiere standard site together, Ad-free unbeatable service, and a caring, approach to users.
So hopefully this site and serivce will continue, without anything to stop it, happening in the coming years.
:) .

Re: How did you find out about us?
Hi Guys, thanks for putting all this together for us.
I saw your ad on the phpbb main site.
I had set up my own forum on my server but was finding updating to the new version difficult so as it only had several real members (rest were spam users) , I decided to switch over to you and have all the maintenance stuff handled by someone else
Now I better go and spend some time setting it all up.
