I've always wanted to have a place to get my fellow high school alumni back together, but wanted to be sure first that we could feel secure that it would be there years down the road. I've been playing with creating websites for about 6 years now. I've been looking for a service that would allow me to include a forum feature into my site and discovered freeforums by happenstance.

I like the concept and flexibility of Freeforums so much that I moved 2 of my sites here. I have been able to include nearly everything I had on the previous sites, plus a forum feature.

Two of my sites are Scouting related, and it's nice to know the level of security Freeforums has.

5) Although I have only used freeforums.org for only like 2 or 3 weeks, I am satisfied to a large extent. There are no ads, which makes it so different from many other providers. Although it is still quite featureless, it has been providing lots of nice updates. The admins here are also quick in replying many questions here and there.

5. I have tried a Lot of sites. There are those that say there are few ads etc. and then Flood your forum/website with advertizements and drive away members. Some sites say that it's your own free website, but you can only edit text and have little or no control. With freefourms, users arent driven away by ads, and it really is your own site. I think one of the best things about freeforums.org is that you can request your own mods, forum styles, etc. The freeforums service is fast, reliable, and totally free.

5) Well, i started a forum after one that i loved closed. It didnt go well so i helped set up another. That forum host was rarther terrible and started spamming my forum with Adds. The host said it was &quotAdd-Free" BUT it seems they didnt count adds in treads as adds. I was rarther annoyed and spent ages looking for an add free forum. I found this one of the second page of my &quotAdd-Free Forums Hosting" google search. Why its on the second page with its number of hits i dont know! Its THE best forum host around! No Adds, Pop Ups and The Best Service Around! Me thinks anyone who finds this host will see that its second to none! GREAT SERVICE GUYS!!! My name is Bobby Showalter. I am currently a Junior in High School and am the section leader of our band's Trombone Section. While preparing for the upcoming year, I began to think of what I could do to really impact the section, what I could do to really get them involved in everything that was going on in band. It was then that it hit me: we needed an online presence. Not just some little crappy webpage that has a picture of a trombone and everyone's name on it, oh no this was going to have to be BIG.

I have been playing online computer games for about a year or so now and do so with a clan. I have always enjoyed participating in the clan forum discussions and being allowed to have a say in the decisions that are made. It was this experience that influenced me to build an online forum of my own and use it to give back to the section and get them involved.

But where should I start? I had no idea where to get an online forum, much less set one up. So, I did like any curious high-school student would do: I hit the search engines. Yahoo! to be exact. A search of &quotFree online forums" led me to a hosting service called &quotFree-Forums.org." *&quotYes!"* I thought to myself. *&quotI have found what I'm looking for!"* Unfortunately, I didn't. Free-Forums.org does what the majority of free forum hosters do: They place ads on your page. Not so bad, I guess, if those ads were actually relevent to what your forum was about. However these ads DID NOT contain any relevent information, only explicit content that I did not want my peers looking at. Enraged, I ran to the support forums in an attempt to obtain some answers on the ads. What I found was a support forum run by a lone administrator who did not know much about phpBB and provided little help to his hundreds of customers. When I returned to my forum, I found that porn-bots had begun registering with my forum. "*I thought my forum was secure! That's what the support forums said!!!"* Fuming with anger from every pore in my body, I returned to the support forums only to get a reply of &quotSorry, I can't help you. Our forums are secure that shouldn't be happening." But it was happening, and I was very, very upset. So, I left.

Without a forum but still interested in the idea, I began researching into my alternatives. It was then that I remembered seeing the link for this site under the Free-Forums.org link. So, I checked it out. It was like a revelation. Sure, at first it was a bit frustrating to get through the downtimes, but they were short, sparatic, and easy to deal with. Now that the servers have been upgraded, I am enjoying the speed that I and my members are getting. Our short membership has been very, VERY enjoyable and we look forward to what the future of FreeForums.org holds. The mods, the skins, the AMAZING SUPPORT all of it keeps me coming back for more. 5) I have little-to-no technical skills when it comes to the Internet and anything computer-related. From my college career, I learned how to use Microsoft Office but that is about it. So how can someone like me create and run their own web forum? It's easy! Your website, freeforums.org made this possible, and it was virtually effortless.
At first, I had my roleplaying forum on a website that boasted free hosting, but was splattered with advertisements, most of which were not related to my site, and some of which were disturbingly pornographic. Our time with them lasted about a month before we moved our thousands of posts over to freeforums.org and we haven't looked back.
Now, I have SO many options, from templates to mods, and all sorts of controls I never even knew about! And with the friendliness of the staff and other forum admins, I learn something new practically every day.
