 Falling Snow Will we be having the ''falling snow'' mod in the Mod Center in the ACP this year.
I never was a Forum onwer at the time. But it sounds cool! Are they going to have it back this year?

Re: Falling Snow I enjoyed it while it was around, since it was really suitable for the style of the forum which I ran (and it suited the name too), and I would be pleased if it did make a comeback this year.
However, Clive is right, it did slow forums down majorly while it was around...
I'd be happy to have it back anyway.

Re: Falling Snow I am really hoping it makes a comeback this year. It was very effective.
It was voluntary, so you didn't have to install it if you didn't like it.

Re: Falling Snow Unfortunately, I don't think the snow will be coming back this year. We found some users with outdated browsers would experience slow loading speeds when the snow was installed.

Re: Falling Snow Please have the falling snow back for 2011, members love it, i know you say it slows some forums down but if that is the case them admins don't need to install it. Just changed my forum logo and it don't seem enough for the Christmas spirit

Re: Falling Snow I love the idea, and if it slows down the speed, then that can be up to the administrators on whether to use it or not. At least have it for those who wish to use it.

Division posted a few posts back to let you all know that the falling snow will not be returning this year because those with outdated browsers experienced very slow responses from the forums. I see it is a popular topic though, so I'm sure we can think about what we can do next year for you all

Re: Falling Snow I was indifferent to the falling snow even if it was somewhat slower so I turned it on last year and and said I would turn it off if the slowness bothered anyone but everyone wanted to keep it. This year I was looking forward to turning it on again because during the time it was on last winter we had the most visits to the forum than we have had since the update to phpBB3.  Our forum member and my self will have a very Unhappy New Year this year and hopefully next winter will be more like last winter.
